scanner


I have just purchased a printer HPENVY 4504,I am using ubuntu 1204,my computer will not recognise the scanner,it recognises the printer but not the scanner,can you help please.

Look into this information: http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html

Install the HPLIB driver, or update the one which you have, they claim that this driver has been tested with Ubuntu versions: 10.04, 11.10, 12.04, 12.10, 13.04, 13.10, 14.04, 14.10

When you go to HP's website looking up the Envy 4504 drivers, they have Linux as an OS option and that brings you to the external link for the HPLIB driver.

That's hplip (HP Linux Imaging & Printing)

Check out their web site.

hplip can be found in most Distro repositories if it's not already installed by default.
