Saving-Backup of VLC video files to Secondary storage

I found out how to capture streaming video using VLC. I want to know how to save these files to secondary storage such as a pen/thumb drive. So far, I haven't been able to find the proper procedure.

My idea would be to store the file to the download folder and then:
1. mount the USB stick (manually or automatically)
2. copy the mentioned files to the pen drive
3. unmount the pen drive

No. Does not work I copy file from 'Open Network Streaming' and when I reach the destination (Downloads or Documents) the 'Paste' function is grey.

I have no problem replaying a video from VLC when I am not online (?). My purpose is to save the file (ex: https://.....) to storage media.

This depends on the stream format.
VLC does not support saving streams to disk.
