Save application configuration

Hi,

I'm in the acclimation stage with Linux. So far we're not liking one another very much. I spent a fair amount of time configuring the FileManager only to find that it reverted back to it's native configuration when I re-opened it. I'll swear that I heard faint laughter in the background. How do you lock your configuration settings?

You need to provide more information here. What file manager? What distribution? what desktop environment?

acid kewpie,

I'm using kubuntu and FileManager is a utility that facilitates viewing of folders and files. I went back through the FileManager configuration settings and reset them and then cycled the application and the second time it retained my configuration. Go Figure?

Unknown Ubuntu version ? ?
The command : cat /etc/lsb-release
will tell : 1) _RELEASE= e.g. 9.10
2) DISTRIB_CODENAME= e.g. karmic

Synaptic "Quick Search" .. filemanager ..
Three different tools shows up.

Goggle .. filemanager ..
At least three with that name, and defenitly
not the same as the Ubuntu ' Search '.

More info please, Ubuntu <name>, FileManager <name>.
.....
