satellite internet connection

We recently signed up for satellite internet with wildblue.com.
It works O.K. with windows but I cannot get on line with linux(suse10.3). The connection is thru an ethernet card which the software recognizes and I have enabled samba but it wants an IP address and I don't know what to put in. Wild blue doesn't support linux so I don't know who to talk to.

Your best bet is to get a good wireless router, and have it grab the IP from your ISP.

From there, your other computers can connect to it as the default gateway.

You won't get linux support from your ISP, but there should be nothing preventing you from connecting, as it's a simple dhcp request.

If in doubt, take a look at the setup for the Windows ethernet card. Does it get an ip automatically? What about the gateway and dns settings? In the end, the way it is configured in Windows is the way it'll be configured in suse. It's just a matter of understanding what that means in the suse context.
