SATA hard disk not detected during installation of red hat
 

while installing red hat linux on new mchine having sata hard disk ,the hard disk is not being getting detected ?what should i do?
also i am not able download red hat software.tell exactly from where to download the software.please help

What version of RedHat are you trying to run?

Older versions of RedHat will not support SATA. Also, if you have something like RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), you have to be registered to be able to download SW.

Pick your distro, sata is supported in the kernel, so it maybe an old distro...
If not then try a different distribution...
