Samtron 76V
This is the monitor I have, and I can't seem to get it to work correctly. I'm running RH9, and when it tried to detect the monitor, it came up as an unprobed monitor. I was selecting different Samtron monitors, and ended up screwing up RedHat. I have now reinstalled it, but would like to know how I can get it to run correctly so I can have 32bit color, decent refresh rate, etc.

i don't know a lot about red hat, but i know that you can configure X (that's the program that gives you your gui) with the command Xconfigurator in red hat. some non-redhat configs would be xf86config (but that's text only and not very nice), xf86cfg (much nicer to use), or xvidtune (this one requires that you already have an X session running). hope that helps.

A quick look at the manual from their site:
Horizontal Refresh Range: 30 -70 Vertical Refresh Range: 50 -160 You can edit XF86Config manually and enter those settings or run xf86config from the command line and when it comes to the monitor section enter those settings manually or red hat as a graphical configurator you can run from the command line as far as I remember but don't recall the command to invoke it. Duhhh....ignore that.. I read Samsung not Samtron so unless they are the same model numbers under different names.... |
Oh, alright. I knew that it was this:
Horizontal Refresh Range: 30 -70 Vertical Refresh Range: 50 -160 But it called those the "Scanning Frequency," so I didn't know if that's what I had to input. Thanks. |
