same desktop 4 root & user
 

let's say the kde desktop for the root account is highly customized and configured

how can I apply all the settings set for the root's desktop to my user account's kde desktop?

You need to copy the '.kde' directory from one home directory to another. AFter you change permissions, you should have most settings moved.

so for all the programs i ran so far such as konqueror gaim xmms an all other stuff do i need to copy all ".programname" directories? so i can have all the settings i configured for everything?

cuz i have been using my root account only so far and just made a new user account
i want everything to be same as they are with my root acc... programwise .. so i wont have to go thru every single thing and adjust them..

If you want to have everything the same just copy the whole /root to /home/username and change permissions and ownership. Then it's done :)

And for future reference I guess if you stick whatever it is you want into /etc/skel they'll be copied over for any new users you add to their home dir (assuming useradd -m blah..blah.blah)
