same desktop 4 root & user
let's say the kde desktop for the root account is highly customized and configured
how can I apply all the settings set for the root's desktop to my user account's kde desktop? |
You need to copy the '.kde' directory from one home directory to another. AFter you change permissions, you should have most settings moved.
|
cool i'll try that
|
so for all the programs i ran so far such as konqueror gaim xmms an all other stuff do i need to copy all ".programname" directories? so i can have all the settings i configured for everything?
cuz i have been using my root account only so far and just made a new user account i want everything to be same as they are with my root acc... programwise .. so i wont have to go thru every single thing and adjust them.. |
If you want to have everything the same just copy the whole /root to /home/username and change permissions and ownership. Then it's done :)
|
And for future reference I guess if you stick whatever it is you want into /etc/skel they'll be copied over for any new users you add to their home dir (assuming useradd -m blah..blah.blah)
