Question samba problem


Im using SLES9

I install the samba server and it work fine.From Window 2003, I can find the samba server in my neighborhood network in workgroup. My questions are:

1. How to change the name of the samba server that will appear in windows network. Coz it will display Samba and it version

2. How to connect from linux to windows. What is the command?

3. From linux server, how will I know if the windows user log on to my linux server.

Hi micro_XII,
To change the name of the server, you will need to change the net bios name in the smb.conf.

Have a read of
