Samba install from Red Hat 7.2

I am a Linux newbie and I need to know how to install the samba package.
I hope you can help me because I NEED to network 7.2 and XP before next week. I went onto the Red Hat site and read a manual but I couldn't understand it.
One more question, the smb.conf must be created or does it already exist?
Thanks in advance - forgive my inexperience:)

def not trying to be hard on you, but this question gets asked once every three days. do a search on this site, or google it. TONS of resouces out there that walk you thru the basic setup process.

some starter info...

samba is included with nearly every distro... go to the add./remove applet in Redhat and make sure you installed it. the install directory may vary based on the distribution.

run a search for smb.conf on you whole hard drive.

advice: consider using the webmin tool (www.webmin.com) to configure samba and samba users (different that linux system users - very imp!). also look into using SWAT (samba web administration tool), a html based util for configuring the service, starting and stopping it, etc.

Thanks t3__, Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough when I was searching earlier, I definitely try again.

Since I'm probably looking in the wrong places maybe someone has a direct link to the thread that contains the information I'm looking for. Can anyone help out?
