samba help

Ok this is my first try at trying to use samba and it failed. Wondering if someone could tell me what is wrong. Here is what i have in my smb.conf

# Global paramters
[global]
workgroup = home
netbios name = track
security = share

I was just following some walk through on a website. I am running redhat 8.0 on this computer and win98 on my other two computers. Track shows up under my network on the win98 machines but when i click on it i get a error saying "\\Track is not accessible the computer or sharename could not be found"
I know I do not have any groups listed in my smb.conf file but shouldn't it just bring up a empty folder? Thanks in advance.

samba will not bring up an empty folder like windows

windows has auto share enabled for IPC$, and maybe C$, D$, etc...

samba does not share by default you must enable shares
