Smile SAMBA GUI Tool for my RHEL 5 System system-config-samba

New to RHEL. I was told to configre SAMBA in a GUI interface I would need the rpm system-config-samba.

Is there a website that has a library of rpm files I can search that is a trusted site? This is for a x86 system, which was orgianlly a small client PC which had windows but now has RHEL.

Thanks
John

3 possibilities:
- configure yum to go to redhat's repository and pay the support contract. then do:
Code:
yum install system-config-samba)
- install that rpm from your redhat dvd. There a folder with thousands of rpm files in it
- move to centos or fedora (redhat based distros where you don't need to buy a support contract to install software from their repository)

Or you can just configure it from command line.

The primary samba configuration file for RHEL is located at /etc/samba/smb.conf.

After you update the smb.conf just be sure to restart the samba service by:
Code:
service samba restart

Thumbs up Got it working - A million thanks

I found the .rpm file on one of the CDs, I didn't think I would find it, with my luck I typically don't.

Again A million thanks to both of, excellent information for both the current sitatuion and any unforseen issues.
