samba configuration doubt

hi,
I have a query regarding the samba configuration. I have just installed and configured an hp p1000 printer on redhat linux 9 server and i have created a public share for it for my 2 win 2k clients. My issue is both the win 2 k clients have username as administrator and their passwords are different, i am wondering how to create a samba user in this case.

win2k (comp1)

username - administrator
password - luck

win2k (comp2)

username - administrator
password - timboy

RH9 Print server
smbusername - administrator
smbpasswd - ??????

if i create a smbuser as administrator and give him smbpasswd as luck , the user of the second computer (un- administrator, pass- timboy) wont be able to use the samba share..

Is there any solution wherein i can configure both the administrator accounts to use the samba share on rh9.?? ..

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Regards,
Amit

with windows 2000, it's possible to "mount" or "map" a shared resource with a different username / password, so set up a single user / password for the samba share and use that one to connect to the printer

You could use a batch file on comp2 to map the share to a drive using different credentials, eg
Code:
net use z: \\rh9\share luck /user:administrator
Only problem is the password is in clear text, so you have to be careful about the file permission.

Hi ,
Thanks for your reply, but i am still having a problem implementing this.

I will explain what's happening here,

I have created a samba share on my linux print server for a printer and created smbuser - administrator, smbpasswd - luck

I have no problems using this printer from my first win2k client using the same username - administrator, password - luck.

The problem is using my second win2k client - un - administrator, password - timboy. As you said i tried mapping the printer folder on this client but when i browse to create a map for my shared printer, i can only see the name of my linux print server , not it's content (i guess because the linux machine doesn't grant access to samba share as credentials un - administrator, password - timboy)

In this case how do i map my printer and connect to it using the samba username and password that i have created for the first win2k client when i dont see the printer itself.

Thanks , awaiting your reply
