Hello, I'am a samba's newbie and i have a problem:
i have shared my home directory whit samba to the clients, the clients can only acces to own directory, but their can see all directory shared.I wont that only clients authorized can see all directory, the other only own directory.
If you do not want the client machines to see all the samba shares when browsing in network neighborhood, add a line to your smb.conf file that "browsable = no" to each share. That way, the share will not be seen by the clients when browsing. Hope that helps. I con't really understand whether you are having other issues or not, because your wording is difficult to understand.
Thanks a lot for your reply, i know that me english is very bad :-((
I know the use of breowseable but isn't that i want.
My user tree is in /home , i have created my share with path = /home with browseable = yes.
In /home path i have all my user, but with differents right (Carl can see only its home, Jack can see its home and Carl's home) When i'm logging as Carl i browse my tree and i'll see only my home, when i'am logging as jack i browse my tree and i'll see jack's home and carl's home. It's possible ???
