Samba?

I'm trying to install and run samba and am having troubles. First, I found a "how to" and was trying to follow the instructions when it told me to copy the tar to the usr/src dir and it tells me access denied. Why can't I copy it there? Second can anyone point out a current "how to" for Mandrake 9.1 and Samba 2.2.8a? Thanks.

Probably because you aren't logged in as root.

What is different about mandrake compared to any other OS?
Just follow the install instructions then to find out how to ocnfigure samba if the defaults won't do:
man smb.conf
