Samba 4
Hi friends, I edit my smb.conf but may be with error's :( Please help me to fix that. I wan't to share a folder from my lubuntu desktop pc to my home network. My lubuntu desktop pc have a 172.16.1.171 ip and my other home network user's have like that ip's 172.16.1.201 for example. My idea is everyone who use my home network to can read and write in this shared folder without login with user and password. Here is my smb.conf with [share] problem. Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

Code:
log file = /usr/local/samba/var/log.m Now the question is whether you can access your share. |
Thank you for your answer berndbausch :) I create the /usr/local/samba/var folder and the error is gone...but I can't see the "share" folder from windows pc and from other lubuntu pc. But on my lubuntu desktop pc when I go to my file manager PCManFM and click on "Go" -> "Network" then I see "TROQNEC-LAPTOP" (this is my lubuntu desktop pc name) and "Windows network". On this two options I see my "Share" folder with path "smb://troqnec-laptop/Share"

What version of windows are you running?
Make sure the workgroup name is the same for all computers. If a firewall is running on your desktop make sure it allows CIFS/SMB traffic. |
