How I can log in as administrator to edit the smb.conf ? I set the smb.conf to 777 full control and I did some and then couldn't save it to the file .... HELP

type :
su - and then type the root password but may i ask how you set the permissions on the file if you claim you don't know how to log in as root? |
well, all i did in ternimate window
[Ro@localhost Ro]$ su - Password: [root@localhost root]# cd /etc/samba [root@localhost samba]# chmod 777 smb.conf then I opened up smb.conf from the directory in /etc/samba/ with gedit I reedit it and couldn't overwrite the file. I have to login as owner. I have no clue how to log in as owner. hope that clear you up |
LOL, how stuipd I'm. I have to login as Root and root password and i could be able to edit any files .. Never mind all then ....
