Hey, I use tiscali to, and have that modem (If I remember correctly). I had it working under Mandrake 10.1, and it was very easy to set up. All I did was plug it in, go to the mandrake control panel, go to the internet/network panel and create a new internet connection. (My memory is a little hazy as to what I did here...) I believe you have to use PPP (PPPoA I think, maybe PPPoE) and keep going through the menu's choosing a user name and password. It auto-detected the modem for me and that was pretty much it. It connected at boot and worked fine. However, I stopped using that modem when I got an ADSL router (these should work out of the box as they are network interfaces). If you can't get it to work through the control panel, try searching for eagle-usb (saved you the hasle: http://sourceforge.net/projects/eagle-usb/), but it is so much easier to do in mandrake's control panel. Hope this helps...

Your modem should work with the eagle-usb package.

Make researches, study docs, read forums, persevere and you should succeed.
Have good courage.

....

that sooo did not help. I only wanna know how to configure it.

Not the same dist but kind of the same prob

The problem lies in the eagleconfig as far as I'm aware(???). When you run it and select UK01 your VCI is set to something like 56 and VPI to 0.

If you look at the manual configuration for Tiscali on the CD that came with it, it states that your settings should be 38 for VCI and 0 for VPI and PPPoA. When I first eagleconfigged I got the same message. I manually edited the /etc/eagle-usb/eagle-usb.conf file to correct this (only the VCI is wrong) and everything worked fine.

Only thing I've not got working now is to be able to connect as anything but root, but then I've not really tried yet, it was a quick and dirty setup.

They check out with ipconfig /all in a "DOS" cmd prompt.
