Smile Safe Browser to stop key loggers etc

Hi..I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.2..
I tried to install Tor..could not get it to work..followed guide lines, pasted command in Terminal, to no avail..
As I use Yahoo Mail, I know its no good , have had it long time ..I think it has key loggers or somehow compromised.
I changed passwords a few times in succession,it goes to a different login box..

Anyway, good Distro for a more secure browsing ..Looked at Kali..I think it is beyond me though.

Thanks in advance for any help.
