Question S-video cable from laptop to tv problem

I am having difficulty connecting my laptop (Acer Extensa 4420-5237) to my tv. I was told it might be a driver issue my graphics card is an ATI Radeon xpress 1250 can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

With the TV connected, what is the output of 'xrandr --props'?
