ruspberry pi SD card expansion


I have copied my original OS sd-card of 8 GB to new card of 16 GB using Win32 Disk Imager. I cannot use full space. I need command line help to expand my card to 16GB. Kindly help as I am new to Linux.

if OS can be used than you may try increasing partition size in Gparted.

It you're running Raspbian then you should be able to just run:

sudo raspi-config
Then choose hte option to expand the filesystem.

Instead of copying your full image you should just copy the data on your new file-system.
