Running GUI from SSH session

I am using SSH to access a UNIX running red had Linux. If possible I would like to invoke the GUI on my connection. Is there a way I could do that e.g by exporting the display or running X-server.

Any steps would be nice.

The only two ways to see the GUI are
  1. Use XDMCP, which is unencrypted and not secure.
  2. Use VNC of some sort: TightVNC
