Running Compiz On Gnome With Mandriva 2008.0 .

I successfully installed mandriva, I also installed KDE n GNOME. When I installed compiz I was using the KDE desktop and it works as a charm, but when I switch to GNOME which I prefer using, it is as if compiz is disabled, nothing is working, I checked the options from the control center and every thing is activated. My question is to know if its possible to activa compiz on gnome on the mandriva platform, it is possible how can I do that. Thanks

I use KDE here, but IIUC compiz-fusion is not desktop environment dependent.

Log out (end current session).

At the log in screen, open the desktop environment selection menu and choose drake-3d desktop, then log in as your regular user

Select the 3d option of your choice (no 3d desktop effects, Metisse, or compiz-fusion). If any additional software needs to be installed, permitt the installation.

Click the OK button in the dialog.

Back at the log in screen, restart the X server by clicking the CTRL+ALT+Backspace keyboard combination.

In the log in screen (again), open the desktop environment selection menu and choose the desktop environment you want to run, then log in.

You should now be running the desktop environment of your choice with the 3d desktop enhancements you selected in drake-3d.

If you have already performed these steps, I can think of nothing additional that may be of any help

HTH,

HTH,
I have just tried that with no luck. What I dont understand is why it would work on KDE but not GNOME. Thanks for your help anyway. may be ill get a better luck with another post...
