Running an executable file at startup in Fedora 9

Hi,

I have an executable file called "Main".I want to run this executable file at startup.
What changes should I make in /etc/init.d and rc.d files to make my executable file to run at startup. I am using Fedora 9.
The default runlevel is rc5 in my system.

Forgetting about runlevels and rcX.d init style you can add a command executing your script from /etc/rc.local. It will be executed after all the other init scripts. However, that's not the nicest way of doing things...

Welcome to LQ.

If you want a program to start in Gnome :

Please run the command 'gnome-session-properties'.
A GUI will open, and you can add any application
to be "auto started".

Or just copy a 'Desktop Entry' ( Main.desktop ),
also called an 'Icon' to the hidden file
/home/vinayblore/.config/autostart/
.....
