Running a program link from Desktop


Hw can I run a link to a program with out having to go throught the Run or Display pop-up window every time/

thanks in advance.

Well if youre using Gnome, I don't know, but with KDE, you can either right click on an empty area of desktop and make a "link to application", or if what you want to use is in your menu, you should normally be able to drag 'n drop.

Which I'm guessing (as Fedora is Redhat based) would be Gnome.

Sorry, can't really help, though I'd think that there must be similar capability.

You could just try and do a drag 'n drop from something in the menu and see what happens.

To put a link on the Desktop, assuming your using gnome which is fedora's default de you can do `ln -s /usr/bin/app ~/Desktop/app`
