runni pc games on linux
...ppls...i try using wine codeweaver..but it doesn't work ,,,...so...does any 1 kno a good wine..to run...pc games like battle field 1942 ..generals...on linux.. redhat 9.0 ...if u kno please let me kno the web address to download it...i would really appriciate if sum1 would help me with my trouble

Thats not the full version. It does not include the DirectX API that is really the main reason to get WineX. I wouldnt waste your time with the CVS version.

The live CVS Tree for TransGaming's WineX (minus copy protection related code and texture compression, for now) is available through VA Linux's SourceForge website. I use the CVS tree and I have had some success. I've never had anything "work out of the box" but with a little work I can get most games to work fairly well. All the games I install detect DirectX 8.0. As far as the copy protection it's just as easy to get a hacked .exe as getting it to work in the first place. |
