why dont you download fedora core 2 using knoppix ?
linux's download tools are far more reliable than XP's anyway.

This isn't really knoppix specific but you can use vmware to run another os o a virtual machine inside a window. Yuo can get vmware for both windows and linux.

A trial version is available for download at vmware.com

If anyone knows of a free alternative that would be good!

well, i can't really use the internet in linux right now, cause my wi-fi card isn't supported, my red hat 9 is shot, and that's why i'm getting fedora 2. I'll try vmware.

why not just connect your knoppix booted machne directly yo the cable modem via ethernet or usb, just for the 12 hours (overnight ?) you need to download fedora.

(im runnign fedora 2 now..... if the last linux you used was redhat, the lastest version of kde is gonna blow u away, it ROCKS !)
