I hate to say this, but I've never hooked up a wireless. My suggestion now is that you open a new question, because odd as it may sound, the question you have now, as worded, may not communicate clearly to others that wireless configuration is the issue now. I'd make the subject the error message you wrote just now.
At the end, do me a solid. If they hook you up, let me know here for future reference: does it work yes or no. If they can't "hook you up and make you legal" we want to simply let people know that under your circumstances (describe them: distribution, type of computer, maker and model network card). You'd be describing this so someone else in your situation will have a quick answer.
