rpmdrake opens when I log in as root

Everytime I log in as root I get rpmdrake "Software Packages Instalation" and "Software Packages Removal" windows that open automaticaly. I have just installed Mandriva 10 on my computer and it did not do that the first time I loged in however it now does it every time.

It is a old computer so I am looking to speed it up in any way possible and having rpmdrake open takes forever.

Thanks,

You shouldn't really log into a gui environent as root. Its a big security risk and you can cause irreversible damage to your Linux installation. Anyway, I think you need to close rpmdrake and make sure you save your session when logging out. This differs depending on which desktop environment you use.

That would do the trick. It turns out everytime I was not logging out instead I was using "shutdown -r now" to reboot the computer. I logged out and logged back in and it did not open rpmdrake.

I will just log on as a user from now on and use a terminal for root privilages.

Thanks.
