rpm -q command


When I executed "service smb status", it is displaying "service smb is running"

When i executed "rpm -q smb" it is displaying "package smb is not installed"

what is the problem...?

well, you have to rpm -q samba
or rpm -qa|grep samba

a similar problem happened to me. I installed an rpm for my ltmodem and it said to me that "packet not installed." when I try to install again it said " packet already installed" .
