RPM Problem

I received an RPM from Corel updating WPOffice 2000 under RH 7.1 updating libaps (the printer link to the OS). I MNT the CD/rom drive and execute the rpm --ivh [package] command. I previously removed the "old" RPM to allow me to configure WPO 2000. I receive an error message "unknown file type" or "no directory found" under both Terminal and Package Manager. I have tried directing the RPM to any directory containing WPO (usr/bin/wordperfect) I have installed RPM's successfully but these have been RH "versions" I know the problem is simple but I am drawing a total blank. Your suggestions are appreciated.

9/17/01 After fighting this problem I have resolved the issue -- apparently, unknown to me, the cd burner software - Adaptec - packet writes which is not recognized by Linux. If anyone knows of burner software which would not create this conflict, I would appreciate the suggestion.
