rpm (linuxconf) not working

hey guys, I just downloaded the RPM for linuxconf version 1.29r3-1 and when I go to do rpm -ivh linuxconf-1.29r3-1.i386.rpm it gives me the following error...

linuxconf-1.29r3-1.rpm: read manifest failed: Success

what is this error, and how can I get around it so I can install linuxconf? I am running RH 7.3. Thanks in advance!

Not sure what that error specifically means myself but I steer away from linuxconf, its buggy and unstable. You might want to look into using webmin, much better IMHO.

I wouldn't waste your time then. Its one reason why no distro installs it by default any longer, cause it sucks...

ok thanks, but that didn't help me sorry if I sound unappreciative, that's not the case. I just want to install it and see what exactly it is and looks like.
