RPM install failing with GUI tools

Hi Folks,

I have downloaded the two RPMS associated with sword for SuSE. They are in a subdirectory of my user home.

bibletime-1.4.1-1.suse9.0.src.rpm

and

bibletime-i18n-1.4.1-1.suse9.0.src.rpm

As you can see, they are purportedly SUSE9 (which I am running) specific. So far, I haven't successfully installed them, AFAICT.

Here's what I have tried:

In YaST
I added the location where the files are to the
list of places it looks for packages. When I search for the packages using the 'Install and Remove Software' interface, it doesn't find the rpms.

In Kpackage
From the Main menu, I have used File => Open and subsequently installed the RPMs. I am asked for the root password, which I provide. Some console-like text flashes by, too fast to read. Subsequently, the rpms don't appear to be installed, that is, I don't find them in the tree of installed packages, even when the tree is refreshed.

In non-GUI YAST
Using YAST -i progname from the directory where the RPMs are, I got a character-based YAST interface, but it didn't say or do anything, and it disappeared after about 5-10 seconds.

By next move, I guess, to install via the Console route/command line, but it seems like these package manager *must* work for some folks, and I'm wondering why I'm having trouble.

This is my first swing at installing an RPM (obviously).

TIA--

Try the command line and if you get error messages, posting those might help point to the source of your problems.
