.RPM Help

i have learned how to install .rpm files both with ftp and with downloading files with the -i command in fedora core 2's terminal. After i install these programs, however, where are they located? I would like to use some of the applications that i installed (wine, real player 10), and i cannot locate them. Would someone please help me with this? thank you

sorry i don't know where fc2 installs things, but when i want to know where an rpm (or a compressed file)is going i use the midnight commander (mc from the commandline) then press enter on the rpm, it shows you what is inside and you can tell where it'll go.

rpm -ql program name | less

Should give you a list of every file installed as part of the program name package. One will be executable. Once you find the executible file, you can start it from the command line, or create a shortcut to the command.
good luck.

you need to install the midnight commander rpm

p.s its well worth it, mc is a fine piece of software when working on the commandline.
