rpm dadatbase skrewed up ???

Hi.

ive been having trouble installing an rpm package,
it complains that it conflict with other packages that i KNOW are not installed, things like PYTHON.

ive tried
rpm --rebuilddb
this works for a while in the background then gives the following error message
error: db4 error(16) from dbenv->remove: Device or resource busy

whats gone wrong ?

Hi

I saw this in another forum in LQ under Distrobution Red Hat. One of the members mentioned that this is a fault under rpm and it will be fixed soon. He said that the work around should be the following.

that is a bug and is supposed to be fixed soon in the upcoming release of rpm (if not fixed already) a work around is:
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 rpm --rebuilddb
