Router, FC2

I have my computer connected to a Linksys router and for some reason it won't connect to the internet. I have FC2 and I can ping the router (192.168.1.1) but it won't connect over web browsers for some reason. Anyway got a reason?

Is you're default gateway set right? Did you set up your DNS servers in Fedora? Search the forums on these topics and you should get some results (hint: if you can ping web sites by IP but not name [i.e. ping 216.239.59.99 works but ping www.google.com doesn't] then you probably don't have your DNS servers set up).

Does the /etc/resolv.conf file contain any nameserver information?

got it

For some reason the DNS server was set for local host, so I presume it was checking my computer for domain names or something? I set it to my router - 192.168.1.1 which then I see now has forwarded to a correct IP. Anyway, I now have another problem whenever i open network properties it gives me the following message:

system-config-network:

Static routes file eth1 is invalid

I can't seem to find a setting with static routes enabled so I dont really know what to make of this.
Thanks for the help guys

Type 'route' as root to see the kernel routing table. There should be no eth1 on your computer unless you have two ethernet cards (is that the case?).

can you connect to your router with your web browser? Your wording is a little confusing. Also, like the guy above implies look for an eth0 device. What does /sbin/ifconfig turn up?
