root localhost problem desperate need of help
I just bought a acer aspire e15 and when I started it up I got the the root localhost page I understand that this is a command page though I I'm completely lost I have a windows 8.1 that I want to install on my laptop instead of Linux but don't know how any help is appreciated

A few things:
1) I don't know what a "root localhost page" or a "command page" is. Could you take a screenshot/picture? 2) If you want to wipe Linux, then just boot into your Windows installation medium (CD/DVD/USB) and install it, it will wipe out Linux in the process. |
But how do I boot into the windows installation
|
Did your Acer come with an installed OS? If so, what OS was it? What makes you think it came with Linux installed?

You won't have a windows installation until you install it. I said you should boot into the windows installation medium. Which means, put the windows installer cd/dvd/usb into the computer, and reboot. Depending on the computer's bios settings you may need to modify the boot priority so the cd/dvd/usb takes precedence over the internal hard drive. To do that you usually hit F1, F11, F12, delete, or some other key when the machine is first turning on.

Pop in the installation media and reboot. You may have to go into your BIOS and set the cd/dvd as a boot priority first.

So just use the Windows8 DVD that you have. Make sure your bios is set appropriately. See suicidaleggroll's instructions above. The act of installing Windows8 Will wipe out Linpus.
