Root and CD-ROM?

First Post:

I am trying to install a game cedega, but it says I need root access to mount the cd.
How do I get root access on my cd drive?

Thank you

Maybe cdrom options in the /etc/fstab lacks of 'users'?
Try to add it if it so.

fstab has to have any read permissions.
Execute 'chmod a+r /etc/fstab' as root
or ask your administrator for doing it.

If you are using KDE, then type the following commands and post the file here.

Code:
user@computer$ kdesu kate /etc/fstab
Then you will be prompted to enter the ROOT password --which you must know.

OR

Usually, a user can gain root access by typing the following command.

Code:
user@computer$ su
Password:
OR to get root access with the Root $PATH Environment loaded,

Code:
user@computer$ su -
Password:

Then try using
Code:
nano /etc/fstab.
