It appears from this error message that the file /etc/named.conf is missing. Confirm that this file exists.

type:

whereis /etc/named.conf

If it does not exist, it will return ¨file not found¨

Read the man pages for named, type:

man named

Instructions on how to configure named are there.

Hope this helps

Bob

thanks everyone the truth is you just have to go trough ur error logs thats when u can find out why it isnt working as for me is was the permissions and syntax error and my link between named.conf in the jail and the named.conf in /etc
