rm'd my ip_conntrack.irc... reload?!?!

Hey Guys and Gals,

I'm probably the greenest newbie around.

Here's the proof...

I removed the ip_conntrack_irc.o file from my linux server. Since I couldn't get it to work, I thought I'd remove the file and re-insmod it only to find that the system couldn't find the file.

Could someone please let me know if I have to re-install everything or just this file?!?!?!

Thanks!!

Brad.

Welcome to LQ

Your problem would depend on your distro and how the kernel was installed.

It could be as simple as reinstalling the same kernel-2.4.??-??.?.rpm with this command, as root..

rpm -iv --force filename

You can get the rpm from the cd or download it.

You should however get the updated kernel anyway, so no big deal just download it from fill-in-your-distro.com and install it with this command.

rpm -Uv filename

Other than that we need more info.
