Ricoh 5-1 card reader can't read card

i've just transferred from windows to linux and backed up my files on a micro SD card w/ a micro SD to SD adapter via a ricoh 5-1 R5C822 laptop card reader. once running off of PClinuxOS i tried plugging it in. i haven't gotten any pop-ups or anything of the sort. i'm not sure if its a problem with me or a problem with linux. i googled it and found that linux has had problems w/ the card reader before, and with the complications of me being a linux id10t user i'm not sure what to do. suggestions on how to open files on card?

I would go look at /var/log/syslog and see if it recognized the disk. It should say something like "usb device detected: assigned to /dev/sde" or the like.

It might just be that your particular setup of PCLinuxOS isn't automatically putting a link on the desktop. Or it might not recognize the filesystem on the card. You might still be able to mount it manually.
