RHEL_4 doesn't support my keyboard layout..! Is that true?

I have an IBM R50e, which equipped with a keyboard that I can't configure under RHEL_4,My keyboard layout is identified under windows as :
(Us English Table for IBM Arabic 238_L), and under windows there is no problem to choose this layout that correctly matches with every key in my keyboard, The problem is only under RHEL_4, I can't find this keyboard layout to choose it, so I tryout to choose almost every keyboard layout in the configuration dialog box, but no success, there was no keyboard layout that matches with my IBM (R50e) keyboard.
any solution to this problem will be really great help to me, and I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

This is a thinkpad notebook computer?
[ IBM has a Thinkpad R50e notebook, so I'm assuming that is the keyboard you mean ]

standard us keyboard map for a notebook should be the correct map.

Yes Thinkpads come out from IBM can have standard (us keyboard map), but also can have other keyboard map like (uk map), or -as in my case- this strange keyboard map that is identified under windows as :
(Us English Table for IBM Arabic 238_L)
This very long name is exactly what I choose from windows control panel>>Regional and language options>>Language>>Details>>Add>>Keyboard Layout, and after I choose this key board layout I can get every key in the keyboard to type the correct symbol that is printed on that key, for example I have the tow (redirection) symbols "<" and ">" printed on the same key, and this key is at the upper left corner of the keyboard (under the [Escape]key, you can see by this example that this keyboard layout is not a standard "us" and not a standard "uk" keyboard map, and the installation program for RHEL_4 (WS) does not provide the keyboard map (Us English Table for IBM Arabic 238_L)that windows control panel provide, so I can not configure my laptop key board correctly to show the correct symbols that are printed on each key when I press that key, It is a very annoying thing since I work almost from terminals or form the console, so I will greatly appreciate the help to solve this problem, thank you for the replay.

To be Honest I did not buy the notebook yet, the reason is that I want to buy a notebook that have a "us" or "uk" keyboard layout, since these two layouts are supported under RHEL_4, So the situation now is:
1) If I can find a solution to this problem I will buy one of the Thinkpads with this strange keyboard layout (no "us" or "uk" layout is available !!!).
2) if I can not solve this problem I well buy any other notebook with supported "us" or "uk" keyboard layout.
So please help me finding the solution of this problem ( if there is a solution) because I like Thinkpads and I like to buy one of them.

Thanks a lot :)
