RHEL 5 Internet connectivity settings


Hi evry 1,i have RHEL 5 installed on my system,i use a broadband internet connection,any time i connect the cable to the system,the browser cant load,please i need a solution.

Please write clearly, and you'll also have to clarify your question.

What do you mean by the browser can't load when you plug the cable in? Do you mean the system freezes, or do you mean you can't pull up any pages IN the browser? Or do you mean the browser won't load at all? And what cable are you connecting?

If you've got a home router (like a linksys, dlink, etc.), it should give you a DHCP address, and do your routing for you. If not, you'll have to get your service connected. You say 'broadband', but don't say whether you're using cable or DSL...DSL connections can use a PPPOE dialer (Google can point you to lots of them), not sure about cable connections.

Please clarify your question, and post the output of "ifconfig -a". Also, since you're using RHEL, have you contacted RedHat support, since you're paying for it??
