RHEL 5 - Dell SC440 Server - shut down only displays ACPI Power Off Called

As per subject, I have a Dell PowerEdge SC 440 running RHEL 5.1 When I issue the shutdown command, or shutdown from the GUI - it goes through the entire shutdown process, but stops at "APCI power off called" The box itself does not turn off. Any suggestions?

What shutdown command are you using?

Try

shutdown -h now
