RH9 Apache Start on Boot


Hi All

What is the correct way of starting apache on boot on a Redhat 9 install?

go to

"system settings" --> "server settings" --> "services"

then check the checkbox next to "httpd"

How would I do it from console as I am not running X ?

I think you put it in

/etc/rc.d/init.d

As root in the terminal type

Code:
chkconfig httpd on
That will start the httpd service on bootup.

just run setup as root then from the menu choose services turn on httpd you do not need x to run setup it is ncurces based

or

/sbin/services httpd start will work to but when you reboot you have to ru it again..
