Unhappy rh9 and mplayer


Could someone point me to a place to get a simple method of installing mplayer on rh9????
I understand this is the best player.
Remember a rookie needs all the help he can get

i am a newbie myself, but today i've posted a question about video playback here on this forum, and got a very hepful support from senior members :

you should try installing xine (went fine for me following the routine with apt-get to resolve dependencies) 'cause as i see from this forum mplayer creates problems quite often. now i finally enjoy watching movies in linux

i got a problem installing xine. i just cant get it install where can i get it for RH 9.0 ??

I downloaded Mplayer and all of the components from www.icewalkers.com , they have a bunch of other software that you can take a look at it and try.

After I downloaded and installed Mplayer, I simply type "gmplayer" into a command line to get the gui version of Mplayer started. Works great and plays my videos just fine.
