Thumbs up RH8-strange boot-up problem - Fixed :)

In the hope that this may help someone else:

The Problem:
(previously posted as: RH8-strange boot-up problem)
RH8, The character set changed, part way through the boot-up sequence, making the console unreadable.

The Fix:
In etc/sysconfig/i18n
change the line: LANG="en_US.UFT-8" to LANG="en_US"
comment out the line:SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

Thanks to Paul Lutus on the linux.redhat.install newsgroup.
