RH 9 Locking Up
Hello all. Been a while since I was able to post. Our ISP went down and took a while to get a dsl line in. Anyway, back to my problem. I've got a file server running RH9 (kernel 2.4.20-6). It has six SCSI hard drives with nothing really fancy. Obviously I am running Samba and when it isn't locked up, it all works fine. When I go back and look at the logs after one of these freezes, it has nothing logged. I can restart the machine and all is well until the next time. If anyone has an idea that might point to further investigation please let me know. It is frustrating to me because some of the folks need to access it on the weekends and can't get to it. Thanks in advance for any help given.

I did and could find no logs relating to that particular phenomenon. I have ended up backing everything up and formated all the drives and am now in the process of reloading RH9. I suspect deep down that it might have been a problem with some of the updates. I had the machine doing constant updates and since RH dropped update support it never went well after that. So I figure that I'll just start from scratch and give it another go. Thanks for your answer and assistance.
