RH 9 Internet Connection Issues

I just did a fresh install of RedHat 9. I did not install the GUI pretty much a base install. I have 2 network cards. Eth0 is cable connection and eth1 is INTIP. Now when Eth0 goes to get a ip from ISP's DHCP server, it is successful. Eth1 is static 192.168.1.1.
Here is where my problem resides. When i try to ping www.google.ca by URL or IP I get a distination unreachable. Why is it I can grab an ip from my provider but not contact any sites on the net ?

Perhaps your routing tables are not set up correctly? Post the results of the following so people don't have to guess; "route -n" "ifconfig".

What happens if you ping 216.239.37.99

I get a permission denied error.
This is really weird, i'm logged in as root, it's a fresh install, I have disabled iptables just incase something funky was there, and still nothing.
