rexec

i am trying to use rexec from any server to my local linux
the linux is linux/390 redhat
Linux srv02 2.6.9-67.EL #1 SMP Wed Nov 7 13:43:06 EST 2007 s390x s390x s390x GNU/Linux
if I execute locally to my own server : this is accepted
rexec -l db2inst1 -p splp2003 srv02 /usr
bash: /usr: is a directory
when executing this from different server, the session does not return an answer (hangs) and has to be broken
the rsh rpm is installed, but I could not find an rexecd to start a daemon
How is this implemented in this system
We have an older SUSE installation and this server can be reached from a specific server. I could not find any file configuring this
Any help, on starting/config service daemon, is welcome
Thanks for all help
Regards, guy przytula

In SuSE, you can run a script such as "rcmysql start" to start a service. For Red Hat, look at using the service command.

Rsh and family are not very secure. You should look at ssh instead. E.G. "ssh user@host 'sudo /usr/sbin/rchal status'"
