Hello Folks, I have been trying to configure this for long but w/o any luck.

I have RHEL3/4 Hosts authenticating MS Active Directory using winbind. What I am trying to achive is restrict the hosts to only limited users or groups.

I am using /etc/security/access.conf to add users and groups. My problem is that since all the Active Directory users are member of "Domain Users". The access.conf does not recognise groups with spaces, so I cant restrict 'Domain Users".

If someone can help me how to workaround this or alternative method to restrict logins, that will be great help.

I restrict users from within smb.conf by using :
valid users = DOMAINNAME+username

Only these users are allowed to open this share.

I also use "browsable = no", too keep it invisible on the network.
